McKEE OUT-OF-SCHOOL PROGRAM
McKee After School Program began operation on November 1, 1978, founded by a small group of concerned parents who had the wholehearted co-operation of McKee School. The generous support and understanding of McKee administrative, teaching and custodial staff is one of the most important factors in the program's continued success and one of its most valued assets.
McKee After School Program is an accredited non-profit society serving families with children ages Kindergarten to Grade six. It is administered by a Board of Directors elected largely from the parents of children attending the program. Every parent is essentially a member of the society. Members of the community may also volunteer to sit on the Board or attend meetings. These meetings are held once a month and childcare is provided. We are always looking for new members to attend our meetings and/or volunteer their time and services.
Fundraising is also an important part of our program and calls for everyone's co-operation. Proceeds from fundraising are largely for program activities and field trip costs. We cannot effectively implement the program we have for the children without additional funds raised.
McKee After School Program meets or exceeds all of the regulations established by the department of Alberta Children and Youth Services.
